One-Hour and Half-Day Seminars

Advising Health-Conscious Patients About Tea Green tea, black tea and other Camellia sinensis teas. Rooibos and mate teas. Evidence-based scientific studies behind the health claims for tea. Tea contraindications for specific patients. Directed primarily to health professionals.

Pharmacology of Tea Bioactive agents in Camellia sinensis teas including caffeine, theanine and polyphenols. Brief review of the bioactive agents in rooibos and mate teas. Directed primarily to health professionals.

Tea and Oral Health Anti-cariogenic, anti-periodontal disease and anti-carcinogenic qualities of Camellia sinensis teas. Directed primarily to dental professionals.

Science Behind Tea and Health Claims What science is and is not saying about tea's ability to prevent cancer, heart disease, inflammation, microbial infections, Parkinson's and other diseases. Directed primarily to health-conscious individuals and tea aficionados.

Caffeine in Tea, You and Me How much caffeine is in the different Camellia sinensis teas. The decaffeination process and the preservation of health qualities. Caffeine in the body. Caffeine contraindications. Possible health qualities of caffeine in tea. Mate' teas and naturally uncaffeinated rooibos teas. Directed primarily to caffeine-conscious individuals and tea aficionados.

Specific Topic One-Hour Seminars are offered on any of the topics listed below under Three-Day Seminars.
  • Half-day seminars are for possible continuing education credit through accredited host institutions. Dr. Paul's School of Tea and Health is not yet accredited.
  • Half-day seminars are more in depth than one-hour seminars. All seminars are customized for the benefit of the hosting institution and attending participants.
  • Participant tuition, if any, is determined by host.
  • Non-hosted tuition per participant for half-day seminars is $120.
  • Seminar hosts in the tea business are encouraged to add a tea-tasting laboratory experience for the benefit of participants.
