BLACK TEA AND DIABETES
Study Suggests that Tea Paired With Vegetables and
Fruits Helps Prevent Hypertension in Diabetics
Type 2 diabetics are at increased risk for developing hypertension.
Nevertheless, a recent study reported in the Journal of Diabetes and its Complications
suggests that there may be ways for diabetics to reduce this risk.
Over 200 diabetic patients participated in the study. The data
suggest that diets high in black tea, fruits and vegetables lowered the participant's
risk for developing hypertension.
It is not known if the findings of this study are applicable to the
larger, world-wide population if Type 2 diabetics. Nevertheless, these initial results
are promising. drpaulsupdates.org
