BLACK TEA COMPOUNDS CURB BREAST CANCER IN LABORATORY STUDY
Good news for black tea lovers. A recent study reported in the international
journal on programmed cell death, Apoptosis, suggests that compounds abundant in black tea may
curb breast cancer. The study suggests that theaflavins, abundant in black tea, may send
signals to breast cells to initiate their apoptosis program that leads to the cell's death.
The study also suggests that theaflavins may reduce breast cancer cell growth rates. It is
difficult to know how applicable this laboratory study is to human breast tissues. drpaulsupdates.org
